Qoubaiyat Sewage Network Project – PCPM
This sewage network construction project in Qoubaiyat, North Lebanon, executed in cooperation with PCPM, aimed to enhance the sanitation system, improve public health, and upgrade household sewage connections for the local community. The works began with a comprehensive topographic survey to ensure accurate alignment and proper route selection for the sewage network.
Following survey approval, the construction phase started with asphalt cutting and excavation, carried out using heavy equipment due to the hard and rocky soil conditions in the area. A compacted bedding layer was then prepared, and pipelines were installed, including Ø250 mm pipes extending over 620 linear meters, along with Ø160 mm house connections for 19 households, providing an essential link between private properties and the main sewage line. The project also included the construction and alignment of manholes to allow future access for maintenance.
After completing pipe installation, pressure testing was conducted on all newly laid pipelines to ensure a fully sealed and leak-free system, confirming the strength, safety, and durability of the network. With successful test results, the trenches were backfilled and compacted in layers to protect the pipes and prevent future settlement.
To restore the site to its original condition, the final reinstatement stage included repaving the trench route with an 8 cm asphalt layer, ensuring a smooth roadway and minimizing visual and structural impact. This project represents an important step toward improving the sewage infrastructure in Qoubaiyat, reducing environmental risks, and supporting long-term sustainable development.
Through proper planning, execution, and coordination with PCPM, the project was delivered to high engineering standards, providing residents with a more reliable and efficient sewage network that will serve the community for years to come.
